Beaver Pond Cabin

This is a small cabin in New York state located
beside a beaver pond. The raising was a community
building event, conducted entirely by hand with the
owners and some of their friends. It measures sixteen
by twenty-four feet with three foot kneewalls in the
loft and a fourteen in twelve pitch roof. The frame
is mostly white pine with curved braces, a tie beam
milled on two sides only, a cantilevered landing for
the loft stairs and forked posts in the middle bent.
The door jambs and collar beam form part of the plate
tie assembly in bent two.
